All-Aluminum Construction
Stranded aluminum conductors provide good conductivity with lower conductor weight for overhead line routes.
All-aluminum bare overhead conductor for standard transmission and distribution routes.
AAC is used where conductivity, light weight and standard-based conductor sizing are the key selection factors for overhead line design.
AAC conductors are bare overhead conductors made from concentrically stranded aluminum wires. They are typically selected for transmission, distribution and feeder routes where electrical conductivity, conductor weight and standard-based sizing are more important than very high tensile strength.
Concentric-lay stranded aluminum conductor without insulation, sheath or armour. Final conductor size, stranding, DC resistance, weight and rated strength should be checked against the selected project standard.
Stranded aluminum conductors provide good conductivity with lower conductor weight for overhead line routes.
Conductor area, stranding, DC resistance and rated strength can be checked against IEC, ASTM, BS, DIN or GB tables.
For AAC - All Aluminum Conductor, a suitable option for short to medium spans where very high tensile strength is not the main selection factor.
| Product / Route | Main Use | Selection Guidance |
| AAC | Conductivity and low weight | Short to medium spans with moderate mechanical loading. |
| AAAC | Higher strength and corrosion resistance | Routes needing better strength-to-weight performance. |
| ACSR | High tensile strength | Longer spans and higher mechanical loading. |
Confirm whether the project uses IEC, ASTM, BS, DIN, GB, AS or NFC conductor tables before selecting size.
Compare nominal area, DC resistance and current requirement against the line design and utility specification.
Check rated strength, span length, sag requirement and wind/ice conditions before confirming conductor family.
For higher tension or corrosion performance, compare AAC, AAAC, ACSR, ACAR, AACSR or ACSR/AW as applicable.
